Bill Hallsworth

HALLSWORTH, William Clifford (Bill) - July 15, 1951 - June 24, 2012

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our long time friend and ACFamily Forums Administrator, Bill Hallsworth, who passed away on June 24, 2012. Bill was doing what he loved to do...riding his motorcycle with a group of friends...and died tragically in a motorcycle accident in Oregon.

Bill joined Air Canada in Montreal on July 1971, and retired in  Vancouver on May 2003. For many years, Bill was involved with IT at Air Canada first in Montreal as a maintenance communicator and then in Vancouver, including his last position as Manager, Information Technology - Technical Services Western Canada, Europe and Asia in YVR. Bill was also active in "Dreams Take Flight" for many years.

Upon retirement,  besides being Forums Administrator for the AC Family Network,  he was the main coordinator of the Pionairs Fraser Valley coffee group in Chilliwack, B.C. and the Stradavarious Motor Guzzi Riders Group which he founded. Bill always seemed to have a smile on his face, was very willing to help everyone out with any computer issues they had, and warmed up any gathering at which he was present.

Bill is survived by his wife, Kim, sister - Valerie Hallsworth- Beames, children - Jared Hallsworth, Ashlie Hallsworth, Jason Hutton, and Nicole Hutton, as well as grandchildren - Lucas and Adria.

There will not be a funeral, but instead a celebration of life to be held on Sunday, July 8, 2012, at 1300 hours at the Valley Yamaha at 44310 Yale Road West in Chilliwack. Bill will be cremated.

Our sincere condolences go to all his family and friends. We shall miss him...

I remember Bill from our high school days in the west island of Montreal Bill was the bass player in our little rock-blues band the "Green Onions". I have many fond memories of our many jam sessions and hanging out in the garage at Bills house and his visits to our home in Roxboro to visit with my brother Dave. I'm still numb at the loss of such a beautiful soul who has left us way too soon. I extend my deepest condolences to Kim and her family.

Although I haven't Bill since we were 19, it is with great pain and sadness I learned of this accident. I remember Bill as a sometimes quiet person on the surface but to know him was to know a really genuine, kind, reflective and thoughtful person. I rode with him a number of times in our late teens. I still cherish our friendship even after all these years. Bill, I am a better person for having known you. I know all of our remaining Montreal friends feel th same way. I will remember you always

Truly an inexplicable loss of a good friend. Inexplicable because Bill was well trained, having been a motorcycle instructor with the BC Safety Council. The weather was good and he was wearing all the proper protective gear. The road was dry and straight and speed was within the posted limits.

My heart goes out to Kim and his family. Indeed, mere words seem so inadequate to express the sorrow felt for this tragic loss.
