LAMB, Robin - May 18, 2012

Captain Robin Lamb (ret.) died peacefully of a short illness, in his Point Roberts, Wash. home on May 18th. He was born in Tisdale, Saskatchewan, 1945, to Bob and Hazel Lamb.

Robin joined Air Cadets at the earliest opportunity and was passionate about aviation throughout his life. After high school he joined the RCAF for one year before earning a B. Comm. and a B.A. at the University of Saskatchewan. In 1972 he joined Air Canada where he had a thirty-three year career, retiring in Vancouver in 2005.

The purchase of “The Ray Young Field” in Point Roberts, Wash. in 1996, started a whole new chapter in Robin’s life. He invested boundless energy in developing it into Point Roberts Air Park [1RL]. His absence will be felt by many Point Roberts residents and members of the local aviation community.

Noted for his friendly demeanour and his wide range of interests, he was highly regarded as an interesting companion, and as a beloved son, brother, father, uncle and partner.  His family has great memories from the summer cabin in Saskatchewan - wake-boarding, picking berries, fishing and roasting marshmallows.

Robin is survived by his mother Hazel, sons Josh and Thomas, (children of Susan Louise Buchanan); sons Noah, Micah, and Daniel (children of Manninagh L'Abbe); sisters Susan Lamb (Hugh Barker) and Marsha Lamb (Stuart Hooper).

A Memorial gathering will take place at Point Roberts Community Center , 1487 Gulf Rd., Point Roberts, Washington at 4:30 p.m.  Saturday, June 23rd.

Robin, I still tell the story about how we met on the return trip to Vancouver and how we became "mates" during that trip from LA and when you had arranged with Susan, during the flight, that a complete stranger , stay in your house for a week , only to drink you out of all your grog... so much for "jet lag!!!"
R.I.P. my friend, and I will forever, tell that story, as I continue to do. Thanks for being a mate !!!

My deepest sympathy to Captain Lambs Family.
From the Crew Scheduling point of view Captain Lamb was always professional and easy going.
Robin was instrumental in helping me obtain my first Personal Computer.
